A commercial relationship often begins with one specific need. You call us for a fire alarm issue, an access control project, video surveillance, monitoring, or another service, and that becomes the part of our business you know best.
But buildings change, responsibilities grow, and our capabilities have expanded as well. If you already work with Lane Electronics & Alarm Systems, Inc., there may be additional fire, life safety, and security needs we can help you manage without bringing another unfamiliar provider into the property.
That is especially important when a new requirement comes up and your first instinct is to start searching for a specialist. Before adding another company to the mix, it is worth asking what we can already support.
The Relationship Often Starts With One Service
If we first came into your building to work on the fire alarm system, there may never have been a reason to talk about access control or emergency responder radio coverage. If the relationship started with security, you may not have needed to ask about sprinkler inspections or other life safety services at the time.
Over the years, however, facility responsibilities rarely stay the same. Spaces are used differently, building systems age, inspection needs develop, and new requirements can become part of managing the property. The services you needed when we first began working together may only represent part of what your facility needs today.
That is where an established relationship can be useful. We already know something about your property, the systems we have supported, and how your team operates. When another need arises, we can start with that context instead of beginning from zero.
BDA Testing Is One Capability You Might Not Associate With Us
Emergency responder radio coverage is a good example.
We perform BDA (Bi-Directional Amplifier) testing to evaluate radio signal strength throughout commercial facilities and identify areas where emergency responders may have difficulty maintaining reliable communication inside the building. For customers who already rely on us for other systems, it is another life safety need we can help evaluate.
There is a practical advantage to starting that conversation with a team that already has experience at the property. We can look at the BDA requirement within the broader context of the facility instead of treating it as an isolated project with no connection to the rest of the building.
BDA testing has also become a growing part of the work our team is handling, which makes it increasingly important for existing customers to know the capability is available.
Our Fire and Life Safety Capabilities Have Expanded
Customers who know us primarily for fire alarm service should also be aware that we can now support more of the life safety responsibilities surrounding the property.
Our expanded capabilities include:
- Quarterly, semiannual, and annual fire sprinkler inspections
- Backflow certification
- Fire hydrant certification
- BDA testing and emergency responder radio coverage evaluation
- Coordination of fire alarm and sprinkler needs
For a facility manager, that can mean fewer disconnected conversations. Instead of managing the fire alarm through one relationship and automatically looking elsewhere when a sprinkler or related certification need comes up, you can begin by asking whether we can coordinate it.
That does not mean every service has to be bundled together. It simply gives you the option to use an existing relationship for more of the property when it makes operational sense.
Has Another Need Come Up at Your Facility?
If you already work with us and a new fire, life safety, or security need has come up, there may be more we can help you manage. Call (407) 299-6070 or contact our team to talk through what your facility needs.
Your Security Needs Can Change Too
The same idea applies on the security side of the building. The way a facility operates today may be different from when a camera system or access control system was originally installed. Staffing changes, renovations, additional entrances, new uses for existing spaces, or changes in day-to-day operations can all affect what the security system needs to support.
When that happens, the first step does not have to be replacing what you already have. We can look at the existing infrastructure, understand what has changed, and determine how the next project fits into the systems already serving the property.
That approach is particularly useful when we have worked in the building before. Familiarity with previous projects can provide context that a new provider would have to develop from scratch.
Expanding the Relationship Does Not Mean Replacing What Works
Adding another service should not automatically become a replacement project. If existing equipment continues to serve the facility well, there may be no reason to remove it simply because a new requirement has surfaced. The better question is what the building needs now and whether the infrastructure already in place can continue to support it.
Commercial properties often contain systems installed at different stages in the building’s history. Some equipment may need to be expanded, some may need adjustment, and some may continue operating exactly as it is.
Our role is to help determine what makes sense for the property rather than assuming everything needs to start over. That can make it easier to address a new need while protecting investments that are still doing their job.
Start With the Team That Already Knows Your Building
If you have trusted us with one part of your facility, there is value in checking with us when the next need comes up.
We can support commercial customers across fire alarm systems, sprinkler inspections, BDA testing, access control, video surveillance, monitoring, and other fire and security needs. For existing customers, that means the relationship you already have with us may be able to support more of the building than it did when we first started working together.
Before adding another vendor or another disconnected system, start with a conversation. Call (407) 299-6070 or schedule a consultation to see how else we can support your facility.
